Really important to know is that it isn't an easy model!
I give this model a complex because there are 67 steps and that's enough for complex, I think.
I really recommand to wet-fold this model. I don't really shape the model in the video because it doesn't work with dry paper.

Paper used in the video:
Regular printer paper 21x21cm
The model I show in the beginning, is made from handmade lokta-paper.
Level: Complex.
Enjoy!

- SD Origami: +JM's Origami Tutorials Welcome! Yes it is. Except for the horn part.
- lateralas: Can I use normal printer paper
- Lazaro V: thank u
- TECHNICAL STUDIO: Hii its very easy brought some hard
- Apolodoro de Atenas: Muy buen tutorial, incluida la parte II. Si a mí la figura me ha salido un poco chunga es sin duda por mi impericia. Seguiré intentándolo hasta obtener algo que se parezca a un rinoceronte de verdad.
- JM's Origami Tutorials: +Fyserou Marianna You're welcome!
- Llew Worden: If I use two colored paper which side should start up?
- JM's Origami Tutorials: +Fyserou Marianna Using the wetfolding technique is great for this model! You could wetten the paper before folding, but then you need to fold it quick. Faster then the tutorial for example. You could also wetten the paper if you completed the base. It's up to you to chose, but I think, if you don't want to take a big risk, you can wetten the paper after completing the base.
- Mary Mary: Ok, great. I will wetten it after completing the base. Thank you so much for replying.
- JM's Origami Tutorials: No.
- Mary Mary: PS: I will be using leather paper
- Mary Mary: This is a really nice model! If I want to use the wet-folding technique (I have never used it yet..) should I dumpen the paper from the beginning or only at the end for the shaping?
- cristian huayragaspar: es facil saludos desde peru
- JM's Origami Tutorials: Haha, Gracias!
- Samuel Sanches de Medeiros: Great model! can you make the origami fish by michael g. lafosse? its a wonderful model for me!
- Brian Campbell: +origamoide - origami easy paper Do I detect sarcasm or is your English lost in translation?
- 马马宝珠: +SD Origami 布碎合拼
- Xx1SAGE: fk you at least play some fkin music
- JM's Origami Tutorials: Ooh, great to hear that!
- vierick cotrina saavedra: amigo tambien hablas español
- puto disparate: STUPID !!!!!!!!!!FREAKING !!!!!
A CLASS IS REALISTIC!!!!!!!
- JM's Origami Tutorials: that's possible!
- Karan Derebail: Color side up or white side up?
- arealperson n: can you use paper with color on one side and another color on the other side because it was hard for me to keep track of what folds you were making
- Nathan R: Does it start white side up?
- Lazaro V: JMs origami what paper should I use Im 12 so I cant get a bunch of diferent paper for diffrent models right now i have unryu and from what i know it would be hard to acheive a good 3d effect (on the back of the rhino there is a crease the un flattens the model) since it is so thin, so should I use 2 unryu papers glued together
- SD Origami: +JM's Origami Tutorials Doesn't matter, I've already folded it. ;-)
- JM's Origami Tutorials: I think unryu isn't a good choise. If you really want to use unryu, then glue the unryu on a sheet of aluminium foil.
I actually recommand a bit thicker paper for wetfolding. I think you will have a shop close to your house (I don't know where you live) where they sell paper for drawing, Canson paper is very good for example. you can also use a bit thicker printer paper, but I think unryu isnt a good choise ;)
- SD Origami: Absolutely stunning model! Great tutorial! I'm undoubtedly folding this!
- JM's Origami Tutorials: Shure, you can! But the shape is not very good, but the paper I use in the video is printer paper.
- D: This video made me subscribe
- Ilyha Lunatik: Good for you
!!!!!!
- JM's Origami Tutorials: Thank you!
- JM's Origami Tutorials: Oops, but I think you will get it if you try a bit
- THE FOLDER: This is the first video of yours that I watched. It must have been about 2 and a half years ago. Then the only paper I had was cheap origami paper and printer paper. I chose the printer paper as it was bigger and I thought white rhinos were white. Because I tried wet folding at the end the back ripped.
I played with it in my origami zoo and pretended that it was a rescued animal.
This would not have been possible if it wasn't for your tutorial.
So thank you for this very detailed and appreciated tutorial.
- Brian Campbell: What's going on at 19:40? It's not pre creased to make a mid section (belly). I'm skipping this part because I've manipulated it so much its not going to come out right.
- Joshua Jin: Will it look dual-coloured if I use kami paper?
- Eveningkiss: I really feel the face is rushed on this and you never adress the fold with the back legs. the legs are easy to figure but the face needs some closer shots to see what's going on.
- JM's Origami Tutorials: great!
- Aayush Gautam: Your hands r blocking
- JM's Origami Tutorials: +Brian Campbell Indeed, this is not precreased, but you can easily do this step by just looking that the two layers are simular
- Rubi Lindsey Esquivel Cornejo: that's increable !!
- Origami How To: Awesome model and tutorial! Thanks for sharing :D
- Ranjeev Shrestha: Brian Campbel
- Arif Akbar: not bad
- JM's Origami Tutorials: you're welcome ;)
