Demography, Democracy and Demand are the 3D's India possesses and wants to leverage to transform itself into a Resurgent Power. Favourable Demographic Dividend can be harnessed only by enhancing skills and opportunities available to the youth. Demand can help Economic Activity and Democracy can ensure Inclusive Growth.
With these factors in mind, the Government of India launched the Make In India Programme, designed to facilitate Investment, foster Innovation, enhance skill Development, protect IPR and build best in class Manufacturing Infrastructure.
The major objective behind the initiative is to focus on about 25 sectors of the economy for job creation and skill enhancement. Some of these sectors include automobile, chemical, pharmaceutical and textile. The initiative hopes to increase GDP growth and Tax Revenue and attract Capital and Technological Investment in India.
Since the Make In India programme aims to radically transform the Manufacturing Sector of India, it becomes very important for both the Prelims and the Mains. Questions can be framed with respect to International Relations too, like the PM’s visit to Hannover Trade Fair (Germany) and its relation to Make In India.
What is Make in India? What should we Make in India? What are the major focus points regarding Make in India as per the latest Economic Survey of India? What questions can UPSC put up from this domain? What are the steps that have been taken by the Government of India in this regard?
We believe that our Current Affairs Lecture Series can help IAS aspirants prepare for CSE in a manner which the UPSC examination requires. Please note that for any further queries or to discuss how to align your preparation strategy as per UPSC requirements (also with respect to CSAT), please feel free to write us on targetias@byjusclasses.com
