Ben Affleck left some giant shoes to fill when he left his directing duties for the upcoming DC film, The Batman. But Warner Bros. wasted no time in finding a new director -- Matt Reeves. Variety reported late Friday that the Cloverfield and War for the Planet of the Apes director is still in negotiations for the role, but is the studio’s choice to take over the film, with Ben Affleck still in the role as the Caped Crusader and still working with the script he and Geoff Johns wrote.
