Last week our video was based on the first chapter of the Economic Survey. This week we will continue with our lecture series on the Economic Survey and cover the rest of its first volume, which is, as we already stressed upon, very important for the examination.
The Economic Survey is a flagship annual document of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India that reviews the developments in the Indian economy over the previous twelve months, summarizes the performance on major development programmes, and highlights the policy initiatives of the government and the prospects of the economy in the short to medium term. This document is presented to both houses of Parliament during the Budget Session.
The important topics this lecture covers are JAM trinity, Subsidy related issues, APMC Act, the government’s plans related to the environment conservation, and the discussions related to the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission.
