Last week, the government of India launched a new ambitious scheme in the area of Civil Aviation - UDAN.
The scheme aims to stimulate regional connectivity with flights covering distances up to 800 km through a market-based mechanism. The vision of the scheme is to create an eco-system to make flying affordable for the masses and to enable 30 crores domestic ticketing by 2022 and 50 crore by 2027, and international ticketing to increase to 20 crores by 2027.
In this lecture, we will discuss the Udan Scheme in detail, it's impact along with the issues and concerns with respect to the scheme.
