Evaporation is the process of liquid turning into vapour. It is exactly the opposite process of condensation. When water changes from liquid state to atmospheric vapour state to enter the water cycle, it becomes a primary pathway for evaporation. This process takes place when a small amount of water vapour enters the atmosphere through sublimation.
One of the vital sources that support surface to atmosphere segment of water cycle includes evaporation from the oceans. The ratio of water that is evaporated is same as the amount of water that is delivered to the earth. Most of the time the water that evaporates from an ocean will fall back to the ocean perception.
Some of the terminologies that are used in the process of evaporation. Single and Multiple effect evaporation. In a single Effect evaporation, the dilute solution that should be concentrated is contacted only once with a heat. In multiple effect evaporation, the energy obtained in the first stage is utilised in the second stage. There are certain factors that influence evaporation rate namely humidity, temperature, the wind, and surface area. That is some of the liquid molecules evaporates more quickly compared to others. But liquid that boils at very high temperature evaporates more slowly compared to liquids with low temperature. So now know how these factors influence this process and explore how energy affects water molecules into escaping, through this video module.
